For information regarding Magic Leap 2 devices or Spatial Mapping for Magic Leap 2, please refer to the “Learn Mores” for Magic Leap 2, available at magicleap.com/legal/privacy
When used in this Learn More, the term “enterprise” refers to any organization responsible for managing your use of the Magic Leap products or services.
AR Cloud
AR Cloud* is a set of services deployed by an enterprise on its own servers that enables persisting AR content and allowing a number of Magic Leap 2 devices managed by the enterprise to simultaneously engage in a shared AR experience.
If you use a Magic Leap 2 device that is connected to an AR Cloud by an enterprise, then the enterprise may have the ability to collect, process, and/or share certain information, such as sparse maps that are generated on the Magic Leap 2 device during a scan. These sparse maps are only captured and uploaded to the enterprise's server if the user launches the Spaces app, performs a scan and elects to have that scan uploaded. Mapping data that is generated during normal usage is not designed to be automatically uploaded to the enterprise's server. When the user selects a Shared Space in the Spaces app, then a small subset of data (e.g., feature and pose information) is uploaded to the enterprise's servers in order to localize the user into the selected Space. Once localized into the selected Space, the data is continually uploaded to the enterprise's servers (approximately every ~10m) in order to properly adjust the user's localization in the Shared Space. Learn more about Spaces and your options for storing your Spaces for Magic Leap 2 devices at magicleap.com/legal/spatial-mapping-ml2.
In addition, certain of your Magic Leap 2 device's configurations as they relate to AR Cloud may be preset by the enterprise, such as electing to share additional analytics information and crash reports with third parties or Magic Leap, or to disable user control over these and other settings. Please contact your managing enterprise for more details on how your Magic Leap 2 device has been configured.
*As of January 22, 2025, Shared Spaces and AR Cloud are no longer available for new purchases. Developer Pro and Enterprise license purchases made prior to January 22, 2025 will continue to have access to Shared Spaces and AR Cloud.
Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) and Mobile Device Management (MDM)
Magic Leap 2 devices support enterprise mobile device and application management solutions to allow enterprise administrators to securely manage their devices. Magic Leap does not directly collect information from such mobile device and application management solutions, however, Magic Leap does provide tools and services to enterprises that enable them to configure their Magic Leap 2 device as a single device, or choose to manage the device through its own mobile device management (MDM) or third party device management, such as Android enterprise mobility management (EMM) and Google Mobile Services.
If you use a Magic Leap 2 device enrolled by an enterprise in a mobile device and application management solution, then the enterprise may have the ability to collect, process, and/or share information from such mobile device and application management solution and the ability to manage your Magic Leap 2 device, including remotely updating profiles and resetting devices. In addition, certain of your Magic Leap 2 device's configurations may be preset by the enterprise, such as electing to share additional analytics information and crash reports with third parties or Magic Leap, or to disable user control over these and other settings. Please contact the enterprise's administrator(s) for more details on how your Magic Leap 2 device has been configured.
Magic Leap Hub

Magic Leap does not directly collect information from Magic Leap Hub 2, however, Magic Leap does enable enterprises to manage their Magic Leap 2 devices using Magic Leap Hub 2. If you use a Magic Leap 2 device managed by an enterprise or have Magic Leap Hub 2 installed on your enterprise device, then it may collect, process, and/or share certain device information from such Magic Leap 2 and enterprise devices.

Magic Leap Hub 3 is a desktop companion application for your Magic Leap 2 device. Use Magic Leap Hub 3 to install and manage applications on your device, capture and download high-quality photos and video or stream your on-device experience to share with others. Magic Leap Hub 3 lets you install and manage Magic Leap tools, including the Magic Leap OS and SDK packages for native OpenXR, Unreal Engine, and Unity development. Magic Leap does not directly collect information from Magic Leap Hub 3, however, Magic Leap does enable enterprises to manage their Magic Leap 2 devices using Magic Leap Hub 3. If you use a Magic Leap 2 device managed by an enterprise or have Magic Leap Hub 3 installed on your enterprise device, then it may collect, process, and/or share certain device information from such Magic Leap 2 and enterprise devices.
Magic Leap Spectator
Magic Leap Spectator is a mobile application that makes it easy for anyone to capture and share high quality mixed reality content streamed from a Magic Leap 2 device. Magic Leap Spectator uses a peer-to-peer connection with compatible Magic Leap 2 applications (i.e., the Magic Leap Spectator Unity package has been integrated and enabled in the app). After a connection is made between the mobile phone and Magic Leap 2, the devices will need to be colocated using an Aruco marker. Thereafter, the mobile phone will send its pose to the Magic Leap 2, a virtual image (i.e., a render of all digital content) will be created and streamed to the mobile phone. The virtual image will be composited with the video feed of the mobile phone and can be recorded locally on the mobile phone. Similarly, the digital audio from the Magic Leap 2 headset is captured and streamed to the mobile phone and mixed with the microphone audio (if the user so chooses). Additionally, users can broadcast content in passive viewing mode via HDMI or Apple TV monitoring. Magic Leap Spectator only sends data on the local wifi network and no data is automatically shared with Magic Leap.
Magic Leap applications such as Workshop and Assist are Spectator-compatible and simply require user permission before the connection can be made.
